Bisbee’s shooting marks the beginning of the high season in Los Cabos. According to projections by the Los Cabos Hotel Association, occupancy is expected to reach close to 80% next week.

Not only sport fishing events drive tourist arrivals, gastronomy has become a major attraction in Los Cabos. Therefore, the restaurant sector expects its establishments to reach a 100% reservation rate in the next few days. This was stated by Paloma Araos Wilkes, president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac) in Los Cabos.

“We are expecting a lot of people, as you know Thanksgiving dinners are very important for the hotel and restaurant industry, a lot of people come. Before this celebration is Bisbee’s, then Sabor a Cabo and the other festivals we have between now and December. We have many options for both tourists and locals, let’s hope we have a good influx of customers. From 50-60% now, we will increase to 100% during this season”.

During the summer, the restaurant sector faces significant challenges. The Canirac reported a marked decrease in sales, aggravated by the high cost of the electricity bill, which, according to businessmen, represented up to 40% of the total cost of their operations.

However, with the beginning of the high season and events such as Bisbee’s, a hopeful recovery is on the horizon for the sector.
