Over 2.6 million passengers have flown to Puerto Vallarta this year

In the first four months of this year, the International Airport of Puerto Vallarta exceeded 2 million 660 thousand passengers, an increase of 24.8 percent compared to the same period of 2022, which was a little more than 2 million 130 thousand tourists, according to the monthly report of the Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP).

This report points out that only in April 2023 the Puerto Vallarta airport received 260 thousand passengers on domestic flights, 14.1 percent more than the same month of 2022, when there were 227 thousand 800. After four months, they add up to 899 thousand 700 passengers, 23.8 percent more than last year.

As for the international market, 382,800 passengers were welcomed, 11.3 percent more than in April 2022, when there were 344,100. After the first four months of the year, it accumulated 1,761,000 passengers, 25.3 percent more than last year.

In other words, for both markets, the airport of Vallarta registered 642,900 passengers last month, while in 2022 there were 571,900.

On the other hand, GAP pointed out that in April of this year, the 12 Mexican airports they operate had an increase in total passenger traffic of 15.1% compared to the same month in 2022. The airports of Guadalajara, Tijuana, Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos showed growth of 18.6%, 13.8%, 12.4% and 11.6%, respectively, compared to April 2022.

The volume of seats offered at GAP airports in April 2023 increased by 16.8% compared to April 2022. The occupancy factor decreased from 82.0% in April 2022 to 81.0% in April 2023.
