Over 630,000 passengers were transported on tourist boats in 2023 in Puerto Vallarta. Recently, tourism service providers in Puerto Vallarta reported a 70% increase in their sales during the winter holidays.

Throughout 2023, more than 620,000 passengers were transported on 37,105 tourist boats in Puerto Vallarta. These journeys included dockings and departures from the piers managed by the National Port System Administration (Asipona) of the city.

Comparatively, in 2022, the city recorded over 36,500 boat journeys, transporting nearly 610,000 tourists. It’s noteworthy that the months with the lowest passenger numbers were May, September, October, and November, while popular destinations throughout the year included Los Arcos de Mismaloya, Quimixto, Yelapa, Las Ánimas, among others.

Service providers recently shared that during the winter holiday season, which has just concluded, sales for boat tours increased by up to 70%. This surge reflects significant demand from both tourists and locals.

As the winter vacation period began, there was an upswing in their workload due to the increased demand from tourists and locals, resulting in higher sales. The prices for these tours vary depending on the destination and duration.

Tourism service providers have advised tourists and locals to purchase their tour tickets, whether for smaller boats or larger vessels, from official sources or by approaching the operators at Los Muertos Pier, where many of them operate, to ensure reliability.”
