In the first semester of the year, Puerto Vallarta surpassed the 350 thousand passengers that arrived through 112 cruise ships, thus exceeding the figures of 2022 in this same period, according to data from the National Port System Administration (Asipona) of this city.

On the other hand, the low cruise season continues in Puerto Vallarta; this month alone 5 arrivals are expected. Even so, the number of passengers and ships has increased compared to last year.

According to the figures of the Asipona of Puerto Vallarta, in January of this year 32 cruise ships arrived with a little more than 90 thousand passengers, while in February there were more than 60 thousand cruise passengers in 19 ships; in March this administration received 72 thousand 537 visitors in 22 ships.

In April, the high season continued with 62 thousand 165 tourists on 21 cruise ships; in May the number of cruise passengers began to decrease with almost 42 thousand on 13 ships and in June there were only 5 ships and 25 thousand 500 tourists.

In 2022, Puerto Vallarta reached in the first six months almost 198 thousand passengers and 95 ships, so the difference is significant. The General Directorate of Ports informed that from January to May of this year 1,406 cruise ships arrived in the country, which represents an annual increase of 12 percent.

According to the report, in the same period of 2022, the number of ships that arrived was 1,248. As for the arrival of passengers to the country through cruise ships, from January to May, 4 million 339 thousand were registered, which meant an increase of 79.7 percent.
