Puerto Vallarta Airport surpasses 4.5 million passengers

The International Airport of Puerto Vallarta has already exceeded 4.5 million passengers from January to September, which is 64.7% higher than in 2021, when it was 2 million 752 thousand, according to the monthly report of Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico (GAP).

In Puerto Vallarta, the domestic market saw 212 thousand passengers in September, an increase of 48.4% from 142,800 in 2021. The international market saw 159,300 passengers, an increase of 36.7% from 116,500.

Puerto Vallarta registered more than 371 thousand passengers in September alone, compared to 259 thousand during the same period in 2021, when both domestic and foreign markets were included. The Vallarta Felipe Angeles trip with Volaris was the sole new flight during this month.

On the other side, according to the monthly data, total passenger traffic at GAP’s 12 Mexican airports increased by 23.8% in September 2022 compared to the same month in 2019.

When compared to September 2021, the number of seats offered in September 2022 grew by 20.1%, while the occupancy rate improved from 73.7% to 78.3%.

More than 1,600 air operations are anticipated for October, a 23% rise over the 1,343 flights in 2019. Additionally, a brand-new service from Vancouver, Canada, is scheduled to launch on October 25 with two weekly frequency and a rise to five starting in November.
