Puerto Vallarta attracted 13% more travelers in 2022

Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit are in third place in the list of the ten resorts in the world with the highest growth this year, with 13 percent, according to the company Forward Keys.
After weathering the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic a few of years ago, three Mexican beach resorts are among the Top 10 global resorts with the biggest volume of visitors in 2022.
The top-ranked Mexican tourist destinations this year, according according to the ranking, are San Jose del Cabo, Baja California Sur; Puerto Vallarta/Riviera Nayarit; and Cancun/Riviera Maya.
The list, which included the three Mexican regions, was unveiled at the World Travel and Tourism Council’s annual meeting. The numbers for 2019 are used as a benchmark because they represent the historical peak for tourism in both Mexico and each of the beach destinations.
With a 13 percent improvement over 2019, the region of Puerto Vallarta (Jalisco) and Riviera Nayarit (Nayarit) came in third.
