Puerto Vallarta, fourth most popular destination for Spring Breakers

Puerto Vallarta has positioned itself as the fourth most popular destination in the world for the Spring Break tourist segment, North American college students who vacation during the months of February and March.

This is according to Allianz Travel’s annual report on the preferences of travelers from the United States, entitled “Top 10 Spring Break Destinations”, which analyzed 2.6 million flight itineraries programmed between February 17 and April 17, 2023, with a duration of five to eight days.

The aforementioned analysis showed that 16% of Americans who traveled during the aforementioned season opted for international destinations, mainly Mexico, as four of the ten destinations visited are located in the neighboring country of the United States.

Besides Puerto Vallarta, the other Mexican cities in the top 10 are: Cancun, Los Cabos and Mexico City.

Cancun was the number one destination, followed by Los Cabos in second place, Puerto Vallarta in fourth place and Mexico City in eighth place on the international list.

The other top destinations for these travelers are Nassau, Bahamas; Montego Bay, Jamaica; London, England; Oranjestad, Aruba; Paris, France; and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
