According to Angel Sarmiento, general manager of the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Convention Center, 2022 was an excellent year for Puerto Vallarta’s tourism industry to recover, with average occupancy rates of over 80% and higher economic revenue than the year before the pandemic.

The hotelier stated in an interview that the presence of thousands of domestic and foreign tourists in this month of December is remarkable.

“We see that there is a high demand from tourists to visit this location, and the economy that is supported by tourism is booming.

The interviewee also sees a place with personality, projection, and dynamism that continues to appeal to visitors from Mexico and North America, with strong indications that this tendency will persist.

Angel Sarmiento also said that demand had made it possible for businesses to offer competitive rates to draw customers with large budgets, especially foreign visitors interested in learning more about Mexican culture.
