Puerto Vallarta to improve downtown image with underground cable

By Tribune Travel

May 04, 2023

In the heart of Puerto Vallarta, on Juarez Avenue, work began a few days ago to install underground cables without affecting traffic or pedestrian crossings.

This work is being done to improve the image of downtown Puerto Vallarta. At this time, all electrical, telephone and cable TV services are being installed.

The goal is to get rid of all aerial cables and wiring, which affect the cherished image of the “pueblito” that is so appealing to Mexican and foreign visitors alike.

The work will be done without endangering pedestrians or drivers. The hoses to contain the cables are lined up at the edge of the sidewalks where the gutter to hold them is being dug. There are already several blocks where the wiring has been installed without causing mobility issues.

Another concern was that the work would not leave the sidewalks in the same condition as before, but this has also been well addressed.

Still, caution is advised for those traveling along this route, as the materials are in the street mouths and an absent-minded person could fall or trip.
