“The Same Place” Documentary Bridges Mexico and Romania

This November 16, a groundbreaking documentary co-produced between Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and Târgu-Mureș, Romania, will premiere at the International STUDIO Festival in Romania. Titled The Same Place (El Mismo Lugar / Același Loc), this cross-cultural film explores how two seemingly distant communities share profound connections, despite their distinct landscapes and histories.

Directed by Arturo Montero, The Same Place dives into the shared existential struggles of small towns across the world, highlighting the delicate balance between tradition and modernity. The project brought together talent from both nations, with collaborators like Roberto Rosales of PonlePlay in Mexico and Ștefana Roman of ECART in Romania.

Following the screening at Cinema ARTA, a public discussion will feature the filmmakers, cultural experts, and members of the Mexican Embassy in Romania. The film will make its Mexican debut later this year, offering audiences a heartfelt look at how cultural identity transcends borders.
