Between January and July 2023, tourist boats transported over 408,000 passengers in Puerto Vallarta via over 23,000 tours. For this month, an additional 58,400 passengers are expected to be transported. These figures are according to data from the Administration of the National Port System (Asipona) of this city.

Statistics show that in January, 63,414 passengers and 3,600 tours were registered. In February, 54,819 tourists in 3,134 tours, and in March, 61,510 visitors and 3,652 tours were recorded around the bay.

In April, almost 62,000 passengers were recorded on 3,207 tours; in May, almost 49,000 passengers were recorded on 3,133 tours; in June, there were 53,222 visitors on 3,150 tours, and last month saw 64,218 passengers on 3,208 tours.

Between January and July of 2022, Puerto Vallarta registered 370,118 passengers and 21,722 boats. There are projected to be 2,560 tourist tours in August.

It’s worth noting that while over 404,000 passengers were expected in 2023, this figure was already surpassed last month. In 2022, there were close to 700,000 passengers for the entire year.

The sales of tourism service providers have increased by 20-30% during this summer vacation period, though not as much as during other vacation seasons. They attribute this to the fact that this school break is longer than Easter and Christmas holidays.
