Tragic: Crowd Disrupts Sea Turtle Nesting on Playa de los Muertos

A sea turtle’s attempt to nest on Playa de los Muertos in Puerto Vallarta was tragically disrupted by a large crowd of tourists around 6 PM. The turtle, an endangered species protected under Mexican law, was trying to lay her eggs but was overwhelmed by the sheer number of people who crowded around her, eager to take photos and videos. 

The nesting process is vital for the continuation of the species, requiring specific conditions that were not met due to the intrusive behavior of the tourists. The turtle, unable to cope with the stress and disturbance, eventually abandoned her nesting attempt and returned to the sea without laying her eggs.
