Starting Thursday night, Bahia de Banderas has activated a green alert due to the impending arrival of Tropical Storm John, which could affect the region in the coming days. While it currently poses no direct threat to the municipality, residents are encouraged to remain vigilant about the storm’s trajectory, with heavy rain expected Saturday afternoon.

The Municipal Civil Protection and Fire Department has provided the following recommendations:

– Secure windows with tape in a cross pattern.
– Remove or secure loose objects that could be blown away by the wind.
– Clear roofs, gutters, and drains to prevent flooding.
– Avoid littering to prevent drain blockages.

As of 9:00 AM Friday, the center of John was located approximately 170 km south-southwest of Manzanillo, Colima, with sustained winds of 95 km/h and gusts up to 110 km/h. The official forecast indicates that the storm is moving into Aquila, Michoacán, and is expected to advance toward Colima shortly.

It is essential to stay updated with official information and to prepare for any changes in weather conditions.
