Vallarta exceeds 374 thousand cruise passengers in 7 months

From January to July 2023, Puerto Vallarta received more than 374 thousand passengers on 117 international cruise ships, according to data from the National Port System Administration (Asipona) of this city.

Puerto Vallarta continues to surpass the figures of 2022 as far as this industry is concerned. In the first 7 months of last year, this destination received 99 cruise ships with more than 215 thousand passengers.

According to the Asipona of Puerto Vallarta, in January of this year, 32 cruise ships arrived with a little more than 90 thousand passengers; in February, there were more than 60 thousand cruise passengers on 19 ships; in March, this administration received 72 thousand 537 visitors on 22 ships.

In April, the high season continued with 62,165 tourists on 21 cruise ships; in May, the number of cruise passengers began to decline with almost 42,000 on 13 ships, and in June there were only 5 ships and 25,500 tourists.

In August 2023, this destination will receive only 8 international cruise ships, including Carnival Panorama, Navigator of the Seas and Emerald Princess, according to the monthly calendar of Asipona.

For the rest of 2023, it is estimated that 59 more cruise ships will arrive in this destination, with an approximate number of more than 179 thousand passengers. This would bring the total number of cruise ships from January to the end of the year to 171, with more than 530 thousand passengers and an estimated economic impact of around 722 million pesos.
