At the 2023 Advisory Commission, it was reported that between January and September, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport saw 5,060,000 passengers. That’s an increase of 11% for international travelers and 13% for domestic travelers compared to the same period in 2022.

What’s more, Volaris added a new route to Guadalajara, JetBlue added a route to Los Angeles, and Volaris added new routes to Mexicali and Culiacan in 2023.

Over 25,000 seats are available on new routes in 2023, with Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Tijuana as the primary domestic destinations.

The main international destinations include Los Angeles, Dallas, and Phoenix.

On the other hand, GAP announced that it will invest 6,407 million pesos in the Puerto Vallarta Airport between 2020 and 2024. The investment aims to expand the commercial area, refurbish restroom modules within the building, install Autonomous Migratory Filters (FMA), and create the first Terminal certified as a sustainable structure in Mexico.
