Vallarta among the tourist destinations with the best hotel occupancy

According to the Datatur platform, Puerto Vallarta maintained its third-place ranking in terms of hotel occupancy for more than a month, reaching 70.6% in the 27th week of 2023, from July 4 to July 10. This number was lower than the 75.6% recorded during the same time period in 2022.
With an occupancy rate of 76.2%, Cancun led the 12 tourist destinations in the nation that this platform was tracking that week; however, in 2022, that rate was 82.9%; second place went to Los Cabos with 76.1%, which was down 1% from the previous year; and third place went to Puerto Vallarta.
Fourth place went to Acapulco with an occupancy rate of 65.81%, followed by Villahermosa with 64.3%, Queretaro with 59%, Puebla with 57.6%, Mexico City with 52.1%, Tuxtla Gutierrez with 50.6%, Aguascalientes with 42.7%, San Miguel de Allende with 30.3% and San Cristobal de Las Casas with 26.1%.
For the summer vacation period, Puerto Vallarta is expected to reach an average hotel occupancy rate of 76%, making it the fourth beach destination with the best percentage nationwide. In total, 55 million 400 thousand domestic and foreign tourists are expected to visit Mexico’s different destinations.
The economic revenue from lodging could reach 70,720 million pesos, which together with other tourist services will reach a total consumption of 776,700 million pesos.
