Vallarta exceeds 3 million 600 thousand air passengers in 6 months

During the first semester of 2023, Puerto Vallarta International Airport welcomed over 3 million 600 thousand domestic and international passengers; this is a 17.2% increase compared to the same period of 2022, according to the monthly report of Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico (GAP).

In June, Puerto Vallarta registered an air passenger traffic in the domestic market of 260 thousand; this was 12.6% more than in the same period of 2022 and in the accumulated from January to June 2023 it already exceeds one million tourists.

As for the international market, during the last month of this year almost 248 thousand passengers were received, however, in 2022 there were 273 thousand 900, so there were fewer this 2023, but in the accumulated of these first six months the number of tourists has already exceeded 2 million 260 thousand.

During June, two new routes were launched, the first one from Guadalajara-Puerto Vallarta with Volaris airline and the second one from Los Angeles-Puerto Vallarta with JetBlue.

By June 2023, the total number of passengers at GAP’s 12 Mexican airports increased 12.3%, compared to the same period in 2022. Guadalajara, Tijuana, Los Cabos, and Puerto Vallarta showed an increase in passenger traffic of 20.6%, 10.9%, 7.4%, and 0.6%, respectively, compared to June 2022.

The number of available seats during June 2023 increased by 15.9%, compared to June 2022; occupancy factors for the month went from 82.3% in June 2022 to 79.6% in June 2023.
