Vallarta exceeds 6 million 200 thousand air passengers in 2022

According to the monthly report of Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), the International Airport of Puerto Vallarta surpassed 6 million 200 thousand passengers in 2022, becoming a historical record for this tourist destination, so the goal this year will be 7 million visitors.

In Puerto Vallarta, the number of passengers flying domestically in December was 251,000, while in 2019 it was 1661,000, an increase of 50%.

In the international market, this destination saw more than 418,000 travelers in December, compared to 353,500 travelers in the pre-pandemic year of 2019, a rise of 18.5%.

As previously noted, the total number of passengers in 2022 was over 6.2 million; in 2019, it was over 5 million, a rise of 22.9%.

GAP’s 12 Mexican airports saw an increase in total passenger traffic of 22.2% in December 2022 when compared to the same month in 2019.

According to Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico, Puerto Vallarta expects 7 million travelers by air by 2023, which would be yet another record point for this city.
