Vallarta Gay+ Community Center Partners with Vallarta Medical Center to Expand Healthcare Services for the LGBTQ+ Community

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco – February 17, 2025 – Vallarta Gay+ Community Center (VG+CC) and Vallarta Medical Center (VMC) are pleased to announce an innovative partnership aimed at providing comprehensive, accessible, and inclusive healthcare services to the LGBTQ+ community in Puerto Vallarta and beyond.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in addressing the unique healthcare needs of LGBTQ+ individuals, ensuring that all members of the community have access to compassionate, respectful, and high-quality medical care. The collaboration aims to foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment while addressing the health disparities often faced by LGBTQ+ individuals.

“Our community center was founded a year ago to ensure the widespread and continuous distribution of PrEP medication to those who need it in the Puerto Vallarta region,” said Pedro López, Executive Director of VG+CC. “However, we are not set up to offer general medical services, which is why we greatly appreciate Vallarta Medical Center’s outreach to provide these services at a discounted rate to our clients.”

Vallarta Medical Center operates an Urgent Care Clinic in Puerto Vallarta’s Romantic Zone at Ignacio L. Vallarta 333 Int. 2, Col. Emiliano Zapata. The hospital itself is located in the Díaz Ordaz neighborhood, across from Plaza Caracol.

Partnership Highlights:

Comprehensive Medical Services: VMC will offer general healthcare, mental health services, PrEP/PEP treatments, sexual health services, and more.
$400-Peso Urgent or Emergency Visits: Individuals in need of a quick consultation can visit VMC or its urgent care clinic to receive medical attention at a special discounted rate.
Additional Discounts on Services: VMC will offer up to 20% discounts on other medical services for VG+CC clients.
Support Programs & Events: Vallarta Gay+ Community Center will work closely with Vallarta Medical Center to organize community events, workshops, and seminars on various health topics, including sexual health and mental wellness. The first seminar will take place on February 20 at 6:00 PM at the Community Center, located at Calle Moreno 101 Interior 3B (above Banco Santander on the Río Cuale). This session will be led by VMC epidemiologist Dr. Jesús García Cuara, who will discuss the benefits of PEP and PrEP and answer questions.
A Safe & Inclusive Environment: Both organizations are committed to maintaining a welcoming and affirming space where LGBTQ+ individuals feel comfortable and empowered to seek the care they deserve.
