In August 2023, passenger traffic at the Puerto Vallarta International Airport (AIQPV) was over 479 thousand, 0.7% more than in the same month of 2022, when 476 thousand were registered. According to the monthly report of Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico (GAP), this airport registered more than 4,700,000 visitors in the accumulated 8-month period.

This same report indicates that only from the domestic market during August, the airport received 284 thousand passengers, 8.8% more than in the same month of 2022, when 261 thousand were registered. In the first eight months of the year, the domestic market accounted for almost 2 million visitors, 14.6% more than in the same period of the previous year.

The international market did not exceed last year’s figures for the second consecutive month. During August 2023, 195 thousand passengers were registered, compared to 215 thousand in August 2022, so that the cumulative figure from January to August already exceeded 2 million 700 thousand tourists.

Nationally, during August 2023, GAP’s 12 Mexican airports recorded an increase in total passenger traffic of 14.3% compared to the same month in 2022. Guadalajara, Tijuana, Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta airports showed growth of 18.0%, 11.7%, 5.2% and 0.7%, respectively, compared to August 2022.

Meanwhile, the volume of seats offered during August 2023 increased 10.7%, compared to August 2022. The occupancy factor increased from 78.9% in August 2022 to 81.4% in August 2023.
