Vallarta surpasses half a million passengers on tourist boats

Data from Puerto Vallarta’s National Port System (ASIPONA) reveals that more than 33 thousand tour boats carried more than half a million passengers between January and November 2022.

Only 48 thousand 300 people were on nearly 3,000 excursions as of November this year, exceeding the 2021 estimates, which were only attained by 40 thousand 221 passengers on 2,085 tours during the same period.

Tourist service businesses who offer tours of the bay anticipate increased sales during this peak travel period as customers book trips to Los Arcos, Yelapa, Quimixto, or other bay destinations.

The Municipal Tourism Board has issued a number of recommendations to both tourists and residents. For instance, if someone wants to take a tour, they should go to the maritime terminal and official locations where they can get information and prices because many people take advantage and sell what they claim to be tours but are actually fake.
