Dr. Jaime Alvarez Zayas, director of the Eighth Sanitary Region, informed that the beaches of Puerto Vallarta are apt for recreational use during this winter vacation period.

The Commission for the Protection Against Sanitary Risks of the State of Jalisco is continually testing the water of the beaches and they are clean in anticipation of the impending vacation period.

“I have the last monitoring report for the week, and it shows that all beaches are suitable for recreational use and that enterococci levels in the bay as a whole are not excessive.”

Alvarez Zayas, on the other hand, recommended residents and visitors to use caution when consuming alcohol, to drink in moderation, to abstain from driving while inebriated, and to avoid swimming after consuming alcohol or food.
