World Tourism Day was good for Puerto Vallarta

By Tribune Travel

September 28, 2022

The busy season for cruises unofficially started this Tuesday, September 27, when two international tourist cruise ships arrived at the Puerto Vallarta maritime terminal. This matched with World Tourism Day.

The Navigator of the Seas and the Celebrity Solstice both arrived at the port at the same time, at 8 am, docking at piers one and three, respectively. The arrival of the Carnival Panorama this Wednesday will bring an end to this month’s activities, but October marks the start of the busy season because of the large rise in arrivals that month.

Every September 27th, World Tourism Day brings attention to the need for accessible travel worldwide

The World Tourism Organization, a specialized body of the UN, is responsible for creating World Tourism Day (WTO). The WTO is likely in operation if you have ever taken a stroll through a quaint, wonderfully kept European village or town. The WTO has many advantages, including supporting sustainable tourism and boosting local economies.

More importantly, the WTO ensures that travel is attainable for everyone on World Tourism Day, including people with disabilities and those who are low-income. The world is available to you and your companions whether you’re using a cane or rolling in a chair.
