The luxury hotel chain Belmond has signed an agreement with Cora Pacific Development, headed by businesswomen Barbara Machen and Rosetta Getty, to manage the Milaroca Hotel in Riviera Nayarit.

According to the hotel chain’s website, the hotel will have 57 rooms and 27 residences; in addition, some of the rooms will have private plunge pools. It is expected to open in 2025.

The building will also feature six restaurants that will use ingredients from the property’s organic farm, four swimming pools, a spa and a retail outlet.

The future Milaroca hotel will be Belmond’s third in Mexico, joining Casa de Sierra Nevada in San Miguel de Allende and Maroma on the Riviera Maya.

Belmond Limited is a hotel chain that operates luxury hotels, trains and cruise ships around the world. As of 2015, the company had 35 luxury hotels, seven tourist trains, three river cruises and restaurants in 22 countries.

In December 2018, the company was acquired by Louis Vuitton Moet Henessy in a $3.5 billion transaction that closed in April 2019, delisting the company from the New York Stock Exchange and taking it private.

The company was founded in 1976 by American businessman James Sherwood with the purchase of the Hotel Cipriani in Venice, taking its name from the Orient Express train.
