Clean beaches in Banderas Bay suitable for summer vacations

According to the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris), the beaches of Banderas Bay are well-kept and appropriate for recreational use by locals and tourists during this summer vacation.

The best tourist municipality in Nayarit was given federal permission to examine 8 of its main beaches, and none of them failed the sanitary inspection.

The list is as follows, going from the beach with the cleanest water to the one with the most enterococci per 100 milliliters:

  • Nuevo Vallarta Beach 1, with 12 enterococci.
  • Nuevo Vallarta 2 Beach, with 13 enterococci
  • Sayulita Beach 1, with 16 enterococci
  • San Francisco Beach, with 16 enterococci
  • El Anclote Beach, with 25 enterococci
  • La Cruz de Huanacaxtle Beach, with 38 enterococci
  • Bucerías 2 Beach, with 42 enterococci
  • Bucerías 1 Beach, with 55 enterococci.

It should be noted that the maximum level allowed by Cofepris for a beach to be suitable for recreational use is 200 enterococci per 100 milliliters, so none of the Banderas Bay beaches are close to those limits.

Thus, Banderas Bay is preparing for a new vacation period and to close the year as one of the preferred destinations nationwide.
