Hotels in Bahía de Banderas with 80% occupancy rate in May
June 08, 2023
Because of the high caliber of the tourist services provided by Banderas Bay, the high season ended with good occupancy and a significant forecast for the summer break.
The municipality’s hotels ended May with between 80 and 85% occupancy, according to Jorge Garcia, director of municipal tourism, and the first five months of the year saw an average hotel room occupancy rate of over 78%.
After the two years when the pandemic restricted visitors’ activities, these statistics demonstrate that Banderas Bay is still growing, but the forecast for the future indicates even higher numbers.
There are already a significant number of reservations made for the summer break, though the deadline won’t be revealed until later.
For the time being, some hoteliers will take advantage of the decline in tourists to renovate their resorts, and the government will start preparing the operation to protect summer visitors.
Banderas Bay and Puerto Vallarta have solidified their positions as two of the most popular tourist destinations in the country, competing head-to-head with Cancun, Quintana Roo, and Los Cabos, Baja California Sur.
