July 13, 2023

AEPV, Arts & Entertainment Puerto Vallarta, the first arts and entertainment program entirely in English, will be broadcast on channel 10.1 on Wednesdays at 10:00 pm. It is hosted by Selena Luna, and the first episode of the series aired this week as part of TV Mar’s expansion of its content offerings to the English-speaking community.

The program’s host, Selena Luna, said during the premiere of the new show at the city’s Tilt Museum that she has been preparing for about 20 years to be in charge of this type of show; she previously worked in television in Canada, moved to Puerto Vallarta a year ago, and has since been active in the performing arts and the city’s vibrant art scene.

The AEPV show will feature singers, groups, ceramists, jewelers, designers, and other artists related to art and culture; it will also offer a history segment about the origins of art and culture in Puerto Vallarta, starting in the 1950s, and how it has become a mecca for performing arts and art in general in this region of the country.

Given that there are many English speakers in Puerto Vallarta and that they have been somewhat marginalized from the contents, the host thinks TV Mar is making history.

Now with this broadcast we are creating bridges to unite the local community with the thousands of expatriates living in Banderas Bay.

Selena noted that Puerto Vallarta is currently experiencing a flourishing of performances and the arts, and that this is why she described the area as magical—it is home to many artists and creators.

When defining what she likes most about life in Puerto Vallarta, she hesitated between the weather and the people, but she ended up choosing… tacos.

The launching of the first broadcast of AEPV took place with a pleasant cocktail offered at the Tilt Museum located in the Romantic Zone to a group of special guests.

The new show airs every Wednesday at 10 p.m. on TV Mar with Spanish subtitles.
