The Romantic Zone, also known as Old Vallarta or the Gay Zone, is located in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood and is the best place to experience Puerto Vallarta’s magic and classic charm. Traditional homes, bustling restaurants, contemporary condominiums, shops, and hip bars are all present in this lovely neighborhood.
The Romantic Zone, also home to some of Puerto Vallarta’s most popular venues, is representative of the city for its rich history, authentic cultural heritage, and crucial role as a welcoming destination for the LGBT community.
One of Puerto Vallarta’s oldest neighborhoods, the Romantic Zone has managed to hold onto its unique character despite the influx of completely new buildings and establishments. The zone’s nickname first appeared in the 1980s, when this location was regarded as the city’s limits.
