Tourism industry shines at the Riviera Nayarit-Puerto Vallarta Gala 2023

The most significant event for the region’s tourism industry, Gala Riviera Nayarit-Puerto Vallarta 2023, began this Thursday with the participation of 70 tourism agents from the United States, Canada, Spain, and Mexico, as well as the presence of about 100 hotels from the region, the setting up of pavilions for Magical Towns, and more than 1,500 business meetings.

It is the most significant business gathering of the Mexican Pacific and has a long history in the tourism industries of both locations.

This year, there will be unique pavilions built up where the nine Magical Cities of Jalisco and Nayarit will showcase some of its fantastic tourist attractions to attendees.

GAP will assist travelers who are affected by Aeromar’s closure

Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacfico (GAP) announced that it is giving impacted passengers the chance to fly with no charge of the Airport Usage Tariff (TUA) as a result of the suspension of Aeromar airline operations.

Any travelers with a valid Aeromar reservation from the GAP airports where Aeromar operated (Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta, and Aguascalientes) will be assisted.

This benefit is created in collaboration with the authorities and the many airlines that offer services to replace the impacted passengers’ flights. It must be requested with an airline and is valid from Wednesday, February 15, until Friday, March 31.

Engines will roar this weekend with the “Pacífico 300”

The Pacfico 300 race, which will start in the municipality of Los Cabos and end at the iconic small virgin situated on the Transpeninsular Highway at kilometer 38 between La Paz and Comondú, will kick off this Saturday’s events of the State Off Road Championship.

On its website, the race’s official course map was released last week, and since then, pilots have already conducted the customary reconnaissance of the routes. Participants are advised to move through the gap at a modest speed because the terrain may change and become unsafe for the race.

Cases of Covid-19 are still increasing in Baja California Sur

Due to an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases that are actively being treated, the health situation does not look very good one day before the start of the Carnival La Paz 2023. Fonatur says protection of land will prevent privatization of beaches and real estate corruption

Of the 16,414 hectares recently earmarked by the government to become natural areas, 115 hectares are located in Quintana Roo. The federal government will convert more than 16,400 hectares of the National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism (Fonatur) land into Protected Natural Areas.

The main purpose is to protect flora, fauna, even endangered species, avoiding the excessive exploitation of the natural assets that belong to the nation. It will also contribute to the safeguarding of public beaches.

The land being marked as protected areas include 66.8 hectares in Baja California, in Baja California Sur there are 8,064.6, in the state of Guerrero, 981.7, in Oaxaca, 5,263.1, 1,921.8 hectares in Sinaloa and in Quintana Roo, 115.7 hectares.

Families boost Carnival occupancy in downtown Cancun hotels during Carnival

The downtown hotel industry anticipates an increase in the number of visitors of between 15 and 20% prior to the start of the Carnival celebrations in Cancun, which will take place from February 17 to 21. This would enable occupancy rates of over 60%.

The first section of the city’s hotel facilities currently have an average occupancy rate of 45%, or 2,250 reserved rooms. Their goal is to fill 3,000 rooms throughout the course of this extended holiday.
