The International Convention Center will bet on concerts

The International Convention Center of Puerto Vallarta’s general director, Mario Barriga, noted that they are looking to accommodate other events aside from conventions, congresses, and assemblies. He added that the performance of massive concerts at the venue for the regional public is an option on which they will bet.

We had this experience with 3,400–3,500 people, and Maria José was there. In addition to the congresses, we want to have assemblies. We want to provide a venue where the people of Puerto Vallarta and the surrounding area can go to a concert without having to travel to Guadalajara, Tepic, or another location.

The presentation for Gloria Trevi has already been announced for May 13th. In the summer there will be another concert that will be more of a family concert with mariachi.

Call for participants for the “Puerto Vallarta Award 2023” announced

The Puerto Vallarta Award in all of its modalities was put out to public bid by the municipal government for the 2023 edition. On May 31, as part of Puerto Vallarta’s municipal and city anniversaries, this award will be given out.

The highest honor given by City Hall to honor those who have worked on behalf of the neighborhood or the municipality is known as the Puerto Vallarta Award. The prize consists of a parchment and an exquisite commemorative medal.

With a deadline of April 14 at 4:00 pm, those who are interested in applying or proposing a candidate should deliver their paperwork to the General Secretariat’s offices in a sealed envelope.

Plan for clean beaches in Los Cabos for Easter Week set up

Manuel Cortés Avila, the delegate coordinator for the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone in Cabo San Lucas, spoke about his concern for the presence of aquamalas on Los Cabos’ beaches and the recent increase in garbage collection brought on by the increased number of tourists, particularly on El Corsario beach.

A work plan has already been set up to ensure the cleanliness of the beaches and the safety of visitors, Cortés also noted as Easter Week draws near. Because of the anticipated high volume of tourists during this time, the beaches will be kept in good condition.

He clarified, however, that the color of the flags is determined by the weather. During the day, the weather can quickly change, so the flag color might too.

Los Cabos warns travelers of its zero-tolerance policy for unruly tourists

The Los Cabos Police Director, Jesús Antonio Gómez, held a press conference to warn tourists coming to Los Cabos that there will be a zero-tolerance policy in place for Spring breakers.

Gomez mentioned that anyone who commits a crime or administrative offense while in Cabo will be punished accordingly – regardless of whether they are locals or visitors from another country.

Police Director Gomez would go on to say that so far, there haven’t been virtually any spring breakers detained by local police.

He hopes that things will continue along those lines. However, it’s potentially this upcoming weekend when police expect to see an influx in the number of young tourists arriving in the region.

St. Regis opens new Riviera Maya resort

St. Regis is the latest hotel brand to open their doors in the Riviera Maya after debuting a new resort.

The new St. Regis resort, officially named the St. Regis Kanai Resort, is the latest of several major hotel projects to open this year, with more on the way, as big names in the industry seek to capitalize on the huge numbers of travelers that are planning on descending upon Cancun over the coming few months.

The St. Regis hotel brand is a luxury hotel chain owned and managed by Marriott International. Their latest offering, St. Regis Kanai in the Riviera Maya, is only the third St. Regis hotel in Mexico after the brand’s stunning Mexico City and Punta Mita resorts.

Cancun joins Global Entry program with U.S.

As part of the celebration of 200 years of bilateral relations between the United States and Mexico, both countries promote the Global Entry program. On Tuesday, the Caribbean Business Coordinating Council (CCE), in coordination with the United States Consulate in Mérida, promoted the Global Entry program, which facilitates the registration of international passengers between countries.

Cancun Mayor Ana Patricia Peralta says that the government of Cancun is committed to promoting tourism and business to advance in the construction of a modern city that responds to present and future needs.

150 applicants were received for the new program which offers the benefits of expedited entry and exit to the United States as frequent and reliable travelers.
