Puerto Vallarta had its first session of Surfing Smiles
This Saturday, May 13th, at Camarones Beach, the Surfeando Sonrisas Association held its first parasurfing clinics in Puerto Vallarta, a sporting event for children and teenagers with disabilities.
Surfeando Sonrisas (surfing Smiles) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of children and adults with disabilities through the practice of water sports, in this case surfing.
Fifty-two children and adolescents took part in the event, some of them practicing this activity for the first time, enjoying its physical and mental benefits.

Illegal construction denounced in Amapas
The cutting of trees in the Amapas neighborhood for the construction of some buildings has been going on for months. However, the project does not have permits from Semarnat or Profepa. This results in daily machine operations that make a lot of noise.
Citizens have criticized the proposed location of this new condominium complex through pictures and videos, but they are worried about how many trees will be felled in the process.

La Paz nominated by WTA for Adventure Tourism Award
La Paz, Baja California Sur has been nominated by the World Travel Awards in the Adventure Tourism category. This award recognizes the attractiveness and diversity of adventure experiences offered by this city.
The state’s capital city is among the 5 places with open voting, along with Cozumel and Puerto Morelos in Quintana Roo; Jalcomulco, Veracruz; and Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca. Voting ends August 20.

First whale sharks arrive at Isla Mujeres; watching season begins May 15th
The first whale sharks have arrived in the Whale Shark Watching Area, according to permit holders who are preparing for the four-month season that begins on May 15.
According to the updated management plan recently published by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat), there are 120 authorized small boats from the municipalities of Lázaro Cárdenas, Isla Mujeres and Benito Juárez.
