El Bajio tourism to Vallarta expected to climb by 20% this year

Alonso Yerena, general director of the Naturleón travel agency, stated that tourists from the El Bajo area are loyal to Puerto Vallarta and the area continues to be their favorite beach. This has caused an extraordinary development in tourism activity, which this year may be 20% greater than in 2022.

The executive stated that since 2021, when worries and uncertainty about the epidemic progressively subsided, there has been a gradual increase in the volume of tourism.

The expert remarked that he does not anticipate that the recent hikes in toll booths on federal highways and the rising inflation will have a significant influence on land-based tourism. Air connectivity is an important factor since it makes it possible for citizens of El Bajo’s cities to travel to this area for a reasonable price in less than an hour.
