On June 8, we celebrate World Oceans Day, as well as the Day of the Most Beautiful Bays, which is organized by Le Club des Plus Belles Baies du Monde, or The World’s Most Beautiful Bays Club. Bahía de Banderas proudly belongs to this club.

Based in Vannes, France, to this club belong only 38 bays, which a committee selects for the flora and fauna they possess, the natural attractions of the bay, the economic potential it generates, the importance of the city where it is located, and its historical heritage, to mention some aspects that the club evaluates to admit a bay. The club was created in 1997 and since then they have taken on the task of discovering the most beautiful coasts that nature has created, until becoming an international reference of the coastal space.

The 38 bays are spread across 25 countries and four continents. Cartagena de Indias Bay (Colombia), Santander Bay (Spain), Mont Saint-Michel Bay (France), Saintes Bay (Guadalupe-France), and Setbal Bay (Portugal) are among them.

It is a true privilege to live in one of them, to enjoy the wonders that nature provides us on a daily basis, whether we go to the beach, take a walk along the Malecón, or even ride the bus and see a spectacular sunset.

A super curious fact is that Bahia de Banderas is the only bay in Mexico that belongs to the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World, this means that in addition to being privileged to be in one of the beautiful places in the world, we can also say that we belong to one of the most beautiful places in Mexico; in short, we belong to the elite of the elite.

A fascinating fact is that Bahia de Banderas is the only bay in Mexico that is a member of the Club of the World’s Most Beautiful Bays. This means that, in addition to having the privilege of being in one of the most beautiful places in Mexico, we can also say we belong to one of the most beautiful places in the world; in short, we belong to the elite of the elite.

Puerto Vallarta, as you know, is one of the top three tourist destinations in Mexico, along with Cancun and Los Cabos, and the number one destination for the state of Jalisco, all this thanks to the large influx of tourists and the economic income that they generate.
