Puerto Vallarta, fourth most popular destination for Spring Breakers

Puerto Vallarta has positioned itself as the fourth most popular destination in the world for the Spring Break tourist segment, North American college students who vacation during the months of February and March.

This is according to Allianz Travel’s annual report on the preferences of travelers from the United States, entitled “Top 10 Spring Break Destinations”, which analyzed 2.6 million flight itineraries programmed between February 17 and April 17, 2023, with a duration of five to eight days.

First “purple spot” to be ready in June in Puerto Vallarta

The Secretary of Transportation of Jalisco, Diego Monraz Villaseñor, announced that the first purple point, which is an urban safety strategy, will be inaugurated in Puerto Vallarta, possibly in June of this year.

The purpose is to reduce the rates of sexual violence in the community that women face when traveling to different points through means such as transportation platforms and yellow taxis, so that they have a safe trip while waiting, traveling and descending.

The event “La Pazión por el Sabor” lived its tenth edition, where more than 2,000 participants were reported to attend “Paraíso del Mar” in El Mogote. They witnessed a variety of more than 100 restaurants that offered dishes to the audience. Finally, the singer Reyli Barba gave a show for the participants.

“This event is to show the products that we have and the beauties that our municipality offers, but above all, the quality of the people that we are, the paceños and the sudcalifornianos”, stated the mayor of the capital of La Baja California, Milena Quiroga Romero, during the inauguration of the event.

Maya Train to be tested in Cancun this July

According to Javier May, the Maya Train’s first convoy will begin testing on July 8 in Cancun. May announced on Monday that the project’s static and dynamic testing period would start in the southeast of the nation.

There will then be a period of static testing following the arrival of the train. According to Javier May Rodriguez, general director of the National Fund for Tourism Promotion, “dynamic tests, or the bearing on the track of the first train, will start in August.”

Puuc Archaelogical Museum set to showcase Mayan treasures

The Puuc Archaeological Museum is now officially under construction. In the Kabah archeological zone, which is located just south of Mérida, the museum, which is slated to be a bit of a cultural hotspot, is said to take up an enormous 4,800 square meters of space.

The museum will showcase over 360 recovered artifacts from Section 3 of the Maya Train route, many of which will be on public display for the first time.
