Puerto Vallarta generated 1,675 million pesos on last holiday period
According to the Jalisco Ministry of Tourism, Puerto Vallarta registered an occupancy rate of 86% and produced economic revenue of 1,675 million pesos, or around 880 million USD between Holy Week and Easter.
Vanessa Perez Lamas, the head of the Secretariat, said that Puerto Vallarta had the highest hotel occupancy rate in the nation throughout the holiday season, with 287,000 visitors, an increase of 17.8% over 2019.

Los Cabos Tennis Open 2023 schedule announced
The calendar for Los Cabos ATP Open, which will take place from 31st July to 5th August this year, was unveiled. The changes to the dates of the 2024 tournament, some of the confirmed players, the expected economic benefits and other details were announced.
According to last year’s figures, the tournament had 30,000 visitors, of which 17,000 were international tourists, with exposure in more than 80 countries; more than 2,300 articles were written in international media and the economic revenue also increased to more than 565 MDP compared to previous years.

Todos Santos to host the first “Encounter of Magical Cities of the Sea of Cortez”
Todos Santos will host the first “Encounter of Magical Cities of the Sea of Cortez”, which will take place in August this year. The state of Quintana Roo expecting 20 million visitors in 2023
Quintana Roo’s tourism authorities assured that with the figures achieved during the Easter holiday season, they have been able to add significantly to the statistics and expect to exceed 20 million tourists by the end of this year.
The statistics show this difference of 17 percent compared to the year before the Covid-19 pandemic in terms of tourism flows and revenues; hotel room rates continue to be exceeded.

Civil Protection inspecting buildings for potential use during Cancun hurricane season
Public structures are being inspected in preparation for hurricane season by the State Coordination of Civil Protection (COEPROC), in collaboration with the local city authorities.
In the 11 municipalities of Quintana Roo, some 908 anti-cyclonic shelters are being physically examined for potential usage as emergency shelters. In the approaching hurricane season of 2023, structures such as schools that are deemed suitable for use will be designated for use as emergency shelters.
